Who We Are
Our History
The small Adirondack town of Stony Creek, NY is a little slice of God’s Kingdom. But for a time, there was no local congregation of His people. In the heart of town, sat several former church buildings from days gone by. However, none were being used as active places of worship. Despite this, God had a plan for the town. He delivered his vision for a church to Pastor Tony and April Lomenzo. Their obedience to God’s call, led to the formation of a new local church for Stony Creek. With the faithful love and support of our sister church (New Hope), God equipped the Lomenzos to plant Stony Creek Community Church in 2012. From the modest beginnings of meeting in Tony and April’s living room, our church family outgrew that space. God then faithfully opened the door for us to use the upstairs of our town’s local Volunteer Fire House. From there, we continued to grow and God continued to provide. In 2017, God blessed our congregation with a donated building. Formerly known as Knowlhurst Baptist Church, the 1850’s structure has served as our gathering place since!
